OUR STORY

GROOM

Rommel Borras

BRIDE

Stacie Buckley

After their successful first movie date, they realized there was much more for them to share. Stacie loved how Rommel was charismatic and made her laugh. Rommel loved how Stacie was incredibly kind and patient. They were able to form a bond over their similar personalities, as they are both social, family oriented, and optimistic. An added bonus was that Rommel loves Italian food, and with Stacie’s mom being Italian, she loves to cook. Over time, their connection got stronger and as they met each others family and friends, they knew they would be in it for the long haul. They have spent many years together, through ups and downs, pandemics, and much more but their love has never wavered. Now they will have the opportunity to stand with all their loved ones to celebrate their love!

Engagement: On June 18th, 2022, Rommel told Stacie that he planned a day to visit NYC. They love going into the city and exploring museums, restaurants, and walking around. Rommel planned a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, then they were going to meet up with one of Stacie’s close friends, Amanda, for drinks. To Stacie’s surprise, Rommel had other plans!

Rommel was admiring a piece called “The Declaration of Love” by Jean Francois de Troy EST.1724 and called Stacie over to come take a look at it. This painting shows a man professing his love on one knee to a woman. Rommel pointed this out and said “should we recreate this?” as he got down on one knee.  Rommel then asked Stacie to marry him. Of course, she said, “Yes!”

Afterward, they had drinks and dinner at the MET rooftop. Stacie thought the night was over once they left the city.. but, to her surprise, Rommel had planned another big surprise. They headed to Stacie’s sister Cathy’s house, where all of their close family and friends were waiting for a surprise engagement party. It was such a wonderful and special night.

About 7 years ago, Rommel and Stacie met and instantly clicked, sharing a very similar sense of humor.
